The Ultimate Sacrifice

The Duke and Army lacrosse teams got together to pay tribute to Jimmy Regan, a true American hero:

I played lacrosse in the same county as Jimmy did back in high school, though in a different division. We did play Chaminade, Jimmy's high school, from time to time and he was born the same year I was. I'm nearly certain I've played on the same field as he did several times. I would have shaken his hand at the end of the game with more conviction had I known who he'd become.

You can find more about the Lead the Way Fund, created in honor of Sgt. James J. Regan, at their website.

They also have another video on Army Rangers here.

Here's a story from Newsday, via The Corner. And this is Newsday's follow up on the game (h/t Powerline).

UPDATE: JammieWearingFool had a post on Jimmy Regan's passing last year.

Rest easy, sleep well my brother.
Know the line has held, your job is done.
Rest easy, sleep well.
Others have taken up where you fell,
the line has held.
Peace, peace, and farewell!

R.I.P., Jimmy

A touching tribute to a true American hero.

God bless him, his family, and all the brave men and women that make these sacrifices for our great nation.
