Obama’s Surge Shuffle
Barack Obama’s refusal to admit he was wrong on President Bush’s successful change of strategy in Iraq is as laughable as it is disingenuous. It also calls into question his qualifications to be president.

What does that stubbornness say about the kind of president he’d be?
John McCain chided Barack Obama for “a false depiction of what actually happened” in Iraq, but in giving his chronology of events, Mr. McCain gave what critics said was his own false depiction.
If Obama dared to admit that the surge worked, it’d be a catastrophe! What? Obama was WRONG on something? But Obama is America’s “Saviour”, and as such, he is above question, above criticism, and **gasp*** CERTAINLY NEVER WRONG on ANY-thing! To even suggest such is, well, blasphemous at the very least!!!!
Okay, lots of sarcasm up there, but the truth of the matter is, if Obama admits defeat with regards to the surge, then where else, perhaps, could he be wrong? Take one card away from the house of cards, and what happens? The whole house comes crashing down. We’ve already seen how thin-skinned Obama is with regards to criticism over his wife’s words about being proud of the USA for the first time in her life, we’ve seen how thin skinned Obama is with regards to his association with Rev. Wright, and we’ve further seen the thinness of Obama’s skin when he is questioned on anything else. He can dish out the criticism, but he cannot take one iota.
See? This is exactly the reason why we needed a strong, willing-to-take-on heavy issues, wanting to go toe-to-toe with the Democratic Nominee GOP Candidate this Fall. Instead, what we’ve gotten is a sore-loser-from-the-GOP-nomination-process-in-2000, not-wanting-to-offend-anyone-except-his-own-base, wishy-washy, “maverick” GOP Nominee in Senator John McCain. Any GOP candidate in his right mind would take Obama’s words, his wife’s words (and if Obama doesn’t want his wife to be made into a campaign issue—at least her words—then he needs to learn to control what comes out of her mouth druing a hot campaign and election year), Obama’s stances on all the major issues, and load up, get cocked-and-locked, and level both barrels at him. Unfortunately, McCain will likely lose tyhis election because of his own past misdecisions, failures, and this alleged “gentleman’s agreement” he has made not to come at Obama with both barrels ready.
All this to say, Obama’s failure to admit the obvious with regards to the surge ought to be political ammo ad. infinetum for the GOP and conservatives: its too bad that we have McCain this cycle instead of a strong, no-holds-barred candidate the likes of Reagan, Buchanan (when he was conservative: I still think he could have defeated Clinton in `96), or President Bush.
