Attorney General Michael Mukasey collapsed while giving a speech to the Federalist Society tonight. It appears to have been a stroke. Prayers.

What we’ve seen in the smears against Sarah Palin go beyond the normal post-election squabbling.

More video evidence that “hope” and “change” really mean “typical politician.” The man has flip flopped more than John Kerry did in 2004.

You have to admit that Saturday Night Live has done a spectacular job at becoming relevant again during the campaign. (Olbermann-bashing bonus)

Myth: The current financial crisis was allowed to happen by a Republican ideology that allowed the markets to run wild without any regulation or oversight.
Fact: In the past several years, congressional Republicans and the Bush administration tried repeatedly to expand regulation and oversight of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, the institutions at the heart of the crisis. It was the Democrats in congress that prevented them at every turn.
This incredible video shows one example of a hearing in which you will see Republican after Republican calling for more regulation and oversight of Fannie and Freddie. You will also see Democrat after Democrat tearing at the regulator who is trying to call attention to what would turn out to be blatant fraud, and defending Franklin Raines. Franklin Raines, a Democrat, once in the Clinton administration and a current adviser to Barack Obama, ran Fannie Mae and walked away with more than $50 million in compensation. He was later found to have fraudulently overstated earnings, allowing him and other executives to make the maximum bonuses. He was forced to return a fraction of it as punishment. That’s the man these Democrats are defending so vociferously. And this is a man likely to be in Barack Obama’s cabinet, no less.
Think about this video the next time you hear Nancy Pelosi or Barney Frank lecture us about the need for regulation. Bunch of lying bastards.
