People love video on the web. There are simply more people willing to watch a 30-second video than there are those who are willing to take 10 minutes to read an article. Given this truism, political arguments that can effectively be placed into video format have a much higher likelihood of swaying people than the best argued opinion pieces. This is compounded by the widespread use of embeddable video.
Take a look at these three videos, all released within the past few days.
1. Here’s a video put out by the McCain campaign aimed squarely at embittered Hillary supporters:
2. This one was just released by the Texas GOP, using an argument similar to Rush Limbaugh, concerning Barack Obama’s lack of charity toward his half brother:

The battle of the 30-second spot will continue to play itself out over the next few months, to dramatic effect.
