It’s pretty amazing how Sen. McCain has the ability to make me proud and drive me crazy, simultaneously.
In this discussion with Matt Lauer, McCain talks about the necessity to explore and initiate the transition to alternative sources of energy. I wholeheartedly agree with the need to break free from the dependency on foreign oil, as many do, but still don’t buy the man made global warming thing. I’m beginning to get pretty uneasy about Sen. McCain’s rhetoric on the matter, in fact, but I’m still going to back him because handing our country over to Barack would be a true shame.
But then he goes on to say oil companies need to be “more participatory sharing their profits.” What’s all this nonsense about sharing profits? Perhaps because the MSM keeps referring to it as “windfall” profits, rather than explain that multinational firms like these big oil companies are serving billions of people around the globe with an increased appetite for oil and stronger currencies to buy it??
On to where he makes me proud, standing firm on finishing up our victory in Iraq. People are making a hooplah over his phrase that it’s not important when American troops come home. He goes on to say that what’s important is death toll. We have troops stationed all over the world. We’ll wait for the summer to hear General Petraeus tell us when he thinks we can start pulling out. Ding ding ding. At least someone running for president has a clue.
