Faux Pas

Posted on September 06, 2008 by The Editors. There are 1 Comments

I was watching Fox News earlier today and heard Campaign Carl Cameron talking about some discarded American flags.  Before I even knew exactly what they were referring to, I knew it was going to be embarrassing for whomever they were talking about, as throwing out Old Glory is frowned upon.

Well, it was the McCain campaign capitalizing on the DNC!

John McCain’s presidential campaign prepared to chastise Democrats Saturday over leaving behind piles of miniature American flags after Barack Obama’s nomination acceptance speech last Thursday in Denver.

Boy Scouts have arrived with 84 trash bags full of bundles of flags at the site of a McCain rally scheduled to begin at 12:30 p.m. local time in Colorado Springs.

The campaign says the flags were recovered from Invesco Field after the Democrats concluded their convention there, and they are going to be used as part of the warm-up ceremonies before McCain takes the stage for the rally.

When I watched the Obamassiah’s rock concert, I mean speech, I noticed that patriotism was rather abundant...which struck me as pretty odd.  Now it all makes sense, though.  For the big TV audience, the democrats made sure that middle America understood they love their country, and that Barack Obama is as American as apple pie.  Then, as soon as the cameras shut down, the American flags hit the ground and the Dems went back to business as usual.

I think it’s safe to assume after the RNC all those cowboy hats went home and were put back on their racks.

Seriously?
For all the incessant whining about the liberal media’s bias and its focusing on trite issues…
you give us miniature flags.
Not issues.
Flags.
Carlin said it best..."I leave symbols to the symbol-minded”.
