Can You Feel the Hope?

Can I just make a point about Obama’s reaction to the Blagojevich scandal?  I just thought it was the greatest thing in the world that Barack Obama’s very first reaction to the scandal was ..... to lie.  I mean, is that just perfect or what?  His first reaction, first statement, the first thing he said to the American public was a lie.

Here’s the video:

And the relevant quote:

I had no contact with the governor or his office and so I was not aware of what was happening.

And of course, by now, we know that’s not true, thanks to David Axelrod’s appearance on Fox News Chicago (video is no longer available, shock):

I know [Obama] talked to the governor and there are a whole range of names many of which have surfaced, and I think he has a fondness for a lot of them.

Of course, the Obama team has since said that Axelrod ”misspoke." Yeah right.

First scandal, first response, a lie.  I love it.  Welcome to the era of Hope and Change, baby.

Politicians are great at one thing: concealing the truth.  The bigger the stakes the more they are willing to lie.  This is a great example of concealing the truth and then concealing the video! smile

Yes, I agree. Politicans are not going to tell truth.

Well, that’s how life is.  Since politicians are so much protective with their names or names of everybody close to them, they don’t have any other choice but to conceal the truth.

Who Is This? by John Settle: You turn away from my deeper song because I’m “a woman, and should hun along.” You take my words so lightly, for I’m “just a Child” - what can they see?”
You praise my ides, until my face meets yours, and you dislike my race. Your own children are by your own judgements ensared: one is “too radical” politically, another’s spouse worships at a you know where!” You are more of a parent to poverty, injustice and depair: your name is Self-Righteousness and your faces are many…
Male, female, every color and creed and age: your name is one history’s violent page. You are the weapon by which armies kill; the fanatic’s power, the instigator’s skill. You cut off circulation between hearts and minds; your prejudices, like prison bars confine. The one whom I speak lives not far away, but lives somewhat in each of us; and so, today, let’s embrace the consciousness of equality: Every one I meet, regardless of facade, is just as worthy a soul as me!” John Settle

How can we feel hope if there’s no really hope at all.  All I can say is that, if we’ll try to recall all the promises we heard before, it seems like everything is totally changed.

There’s a media clip displaying David Axelrod (Obama’s inner circle) telling an interviewer that Obama talked with the Governor.

He had to know but I’m certain he endeavored to distance himself as far as possible. No way you win the presidency but continue to peddle in sewer politics of Chicago. He could suffer some collateral damage though.

We are not sure what Obama really said in his speech. But i personally think that there is no real hope. But we need to clarify things whether he had a conversation with the governor or not.

Based on some news I’ve read, Obama is trying to solve everything as much as possible.  However, we are clueless if how fast he can end the crisis or if he can even do it.  Only time knows what will be our future with his administration.

Obama is a good man and is trying to solve all the problems which the people of US are facing. Bush was a cruel man, always wanted to fight in one or the another way. US has a bright future with Obama.

@ Sam
You’re right, Obama is a very reliable man who has the ability to handle the problems left by Bush.  However, until how long can really stand all these problems?  He really need to make something different.
