Another Sign of Success in Iraq
CJ at A Soldiers Perspective has a great post that serves up a double dose of proof we’re winning the war in Iraq.
From the post:
“This is commercial being shown on Iraqi television - you know, the kind of television that was banned under Saddam Hussein. For me, this makes what I and my fellow Soldiers did totally worth it.”
Check out the post for the other dose, video of President Bush on Army deployments being reduced from 15 months to 12 months.
The freedom the Iraqi people are starting to enjoy is the most wonderful thing America can do for citizens of this world. It is not a case of us imposing our will on others or trying to force people to live by our standards, it is our duty. Additionally, and importantly, it makes us safer. Much responsibility comes with being the world’s superpower, and ensuring the freedom of others around the world is just one example.
God bless the fine men and women in our armed forces that have liberated an oppressed people. Operation Iraqi Freedom always was a just and noble cause, and now we’re winning.
UPDATE: Freeper ”jveritas” has this to say, “The phrase at the end of the commercial translates as ‘If we are divided we will not stand’. The commercial songs mainly says the following: ‘there is No Sunni and No Shia but let us all unite under allah and love...’ “
